Nonprofit Spotlight – UDS Service Dogs

Last month UDS held an open house and I volunteered to capture the service dog demonstration. I love dogs and service dogs are extra amazing. They are so smart. For the first year and a half they are trained in homes where they learn how to open doors, deliver a ringing phone, help their owner take off their coat or socks, turn on/off a light switch- I could go on and on. It’s really incredible how much they learn and how quickly they learn it.

Most of the dogs in the demonstration were labs, but they also work with poodles and boxers and they just started training a new golden retriever puppy. He is the fluffiest, sweetest puppy and just adorable (you’ll see and you’ll want him, like I did.) The cost to raise and train a new puppy is around $25,000. If you’re interested in learning more about the program and donating, you can visit http://www.udservices.org.

If you know of a nonprofit that is in need of photography, please have them email kylenelynn@gmail.com. I am looking to volunteer my time each month to help a new nonprofit. Thanks!!
