Lauren and Peter booked me to photograph their wedding over the phone. So when they called a few months later and said they wanted to add an engagement session, I was excited to be able to work with them before the wedding day. Then when they said they wanted their engagement session in downtown Philly – “just walking around the neighborhood” – I got even more excited. This is my favorite kind of shoot. Then I met them and I instantly knew the session was going to be amazing and fun. And it was.
Fun Fact #1: They were the second couple to ask to recreate the American Gothic painting! This cracked me up because we were in Philly, without a pitchfork, so a garden rake will do, right? As you’ll see it was hard for them to take it seriously. :-)
Fun Fact #2: The bench they are sitting on in some of the photos below is where Peter proposed – so that definitely needed to be incorporated into the session.
Fun Fact #3: Lauren said she was really glad they had this session as a practice for the wedding day – now they feel much more prepared and will be able to do “soft hands” on command now. :-)
I’m so excited for their wedding in August! It will definitely be fun and beautiful!
