For something different, I thought I would add Lauren + James’ Wedding highlights throughout the post, so read along and enjoy!
This was a backyard wedding that took place at Lauren’s family home, so both the bride and groom got ready right at the house.
There is an inside joke about flossing with the bride and groom. As a surprise, the groomsman planned a flossing photos. (I still don’t know the joke!)
I love photographing the first look, so I was excited Lauren and James wanted to see each other before the ceremony.
The couple went to college in Minnesota together but didn’t really meet until after college. I love the framed state silhouettes! It was suppose to rain (like they were calling for downpours with hail) but it held off until much later (thank you God!) It was really hot out still, so the fans were very needed.
It’s always important to take a “selfie” before walking down the aisle.
Remember I said it was hot out…
Their first dance as a married couple (kinda!) right down the aisle!
Amish buggy photobomb!
This bridal party was FUN. Dancing in the street. Sure!
This is a favorite of mine.
I love everything about this photo – the shoes, railroad tracks and tulle.
American Gothic…again! (This is the most requested photo this year and I love it!)
The reception details were elegant with lots of old family photos used throughout.
I asked Lauren’s grandparents to pose with their wedding photo. I love the comparison.
This next photo has a story. The bridal party came up to me and quickly asked if they could spell out a message for the bride and groom as a surprise. They had exactly enough sparklers to spell James heart Lauren…once. I was willing and excited but I had little/no hope it would work out. Light painting is hard! You have to outline the each letter backwards….and everyone had wine before…BUT IT WORKED! (Sure the L is backwards but it adds character!)
Thank you Lauren and James for letting me capture your wedding day! It was beautiful and fun, fun, fun!
